Well... I didn't know where else this would fit, so I started a new thread.
Today, driving to work (it takes me 35-45 mins as I live in the hills, away from the suburbs), I got about 3/4 of the way to work. On the way, in the windy bits, there's slow vehicle turnouts so slow people can pull aside and let other people go past them. I was driving past one of these and I saw a tiny little kitten, meowing, and it was quiet obvious from the moment I saw it that it had been dumped there. So I pulled over, ran across the road and scooped the poor thing up. It seemed really overwhelmed and frightened (which is understandable considering it was standing on the edge of a road with an 80km/h speed limit). I got back in my car and the instant I sat down with it on my lap, it started purring (the most adorable thing ever!).

I grabbed the blanket from the back seat and put it and the kitten on the passenger seat, hoping it would stay there, but it crawled its way over to me as I was driving and sat in my lap, chewing and licking my hand the whole drive. Now I obviously couldn't take the kitten to work with me (retail), so I stopped off at a vet clinic along the way, they took my details and where I found the kitten, which I of course then had to give to them

It was an absolutely beautiful kitten, medium-long hair, black and white, pink nose. Absolutely beautiful and very sweet, about 7 weeks old. I would have loved to have kept it, and I think I may have been able to convince my mum of it (Seeing as how I actually did rescue it), but because I'm going overseas, it's just not practical. Otherwise I would have fought to keep it.
She/he looked a little like this
[link] but younger, fluffier, and with a decent sized patch of black under the chin and on the throat.
The vet isn't open again until Monday, so I'm going to ring them up and ask them if the kitten was healthy and all that. They said they would give it some food etc and call the council for it to be adopted or something. So we'll see. I'm sure a kitten like that will find a good home in no time.
So, I'm kinda sad that I don't have a kitten, but overall, I'm just really happy that I know I did something good for it when it could have walked onto the road and been hit by a car or something.

In other news... 2 weeks of Uni left, along with many assignments and tests. But I'm looking forward to it, as I then graduate. Wish me luck

I'm going to re-open commissions around mid-july as well. So if you're interested, keep an eye out.
